4 years of Victory. The Patriotic War marked a turning point in the history of our nation 07 11 2024

The Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted a ceremonial event dedicated to the Victory Day on November 8th. The event was joined by military service members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and police officers who participated in the 44-day Patriotic War.
The event started with a moment of silence to pay tribute to the memory of our valiant sons who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our republic, after which the national anthem was played.
During his speech at the event, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Police Major General Ismat Aliyev, emphasized the sacred victory, inscribed in our history in golden letters, the liberation of our historic lands that had been under Armenian occupation for nearly 30 years, and the restoration of our national territorial integrity and historical justice, calling it one of the most glorious pages in the centuries-long history of our nation’s statehood. He also delivered the congratulations of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, to the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the occasion of Victory Day and National Flag Day.
Major General Ingilab Muradov, the Deputy Commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Head of the Personnel Department, emphasized that the formidable military capabilities created through the relentless efforts of our President ensure the successful accomplishment of our sacred mission.
It was pointed out that the military personnel of the Internal Troops, being an inseparable part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, demonstrated extraordinary valor and proficiency in both the First Karabakh War and the Patriotic War, living up to the trust of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the people.  In the course of liberating our lands from occupation, 66 members of the armed forces were killed, 346 were wounded, 4 soldiers were granted the title of the "Patriotic War Hero" by the head of state, and thousands of our servicemen were honored with orders and medals.
The speakers highlighted that the victory in the Patriotic War was the beginning of our sovereignty and pointed out that the local counterterrorism operations, involving our Armed Forces, including Ministry of Internal Affairs military personnel and police officers, aimed at neutralizing terrorist groups in Khankendi and the Armenian armed forces, have no precedent in the history of global military conflicts.
The event ended with the screening of the documentary film "Our Glorious Victory is Eternal", showing the courage of our heroes during the Patriotic War.
